About The Position

A Farm Educator is responsible for connecting visitors with agriculture through a safe, hands-on engaging experiences.

Requirements

• Prior experience with agriculture equipment preferred but not required.
• Experience working with farm animals
• Ability to design, develop and implement effective lesson plans and learning experiences.
• Able to problem solve.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to be patient and understanding while working with various groups including but not limited to; school field trips, retirement homes and the general public.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Chores and tasks associated with the farmyard animals and garden.
• Engage visitors with the Pineland history and Mission.
• Lead classes, field trips and farm visits.
• Answer phones and use a POS (Point of Sale) System.
• Communicate effectively with staff.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Assist with special events.
