About The Position

We take care and effort hand raising sustainable shellfish, which we proudly serve at our farm in Marshall and our restaurants in Marshall, San Francisco, Larkspur and Napa.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to work in an outdoor marine environment, including varying and adverse weather conditions
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Demonstrates a positive attitude and contributes to a respectful, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and supporting a fun, team-oriented atmosphere
Embraces Hog Island’s Guiding Principles and contributes to a supportive, hardworking, and fun team culture (“Fun is Important”).
Follows direction of Farm Foreman and/or Farm General Manager
Maintains a positive attitude, even in the toughest of work conditions
Communication is clear and prompt
Provide timely support to other departments
Maintain an exceptional record of punctuality and attendance

Responsibilities

Oyster Harvesting
Oyster Seed Planting and Husbandry
Operate small and heavy medium machinery such as forklifts, tractors, trucks and boats
Assist with ranch and environmental clean-up; must be compliant with all regulations
Equipment maintenance which includes cleaning of equipment
Communicate via email and/or verbally with other employees, managers, and guests
Abide by the Hog Island Company rules, policies, and procedures, including safety trainings and meetings, as defined in the Staff Guide
Report to work in a timely manner and in accordance with the defined schedule
Communicate via email, phone, and/or verbally with other employees, managers, and guests
Abide by the Hog Island Company rules, policies, and procedures, including safety trainings and meetings, as defined in the Employee Handbook
