About The Position

The Family Time Coordinator position provides a variety of supportive services to Family Time staff in their work with children who have been placed out of their parents’ care due to abuse and neglect and need supervised contact with their parents.   The Family Time Coordinator position may work out of either the CentrePoint Plaza or Arapahoe Plaza location.  This position requires extensive contact with children and families and is not eligible for remote work.  The primary responsibility is transportation, and this position works an 8-hour shift, which may be 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.        GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:The Family Time Coordinator position provides a variety of supportive services to Family Time staff in their work with children who have been placed out of their parents’ care due to abuse and neglect and need supervised contact with their parents.

  • Knowledge of computer systems and ability to learn various technical applications.

  • Maintains appropriate boundaries and remains in compliance with HIPAA privacy laws.
  • Show critical thinking, good judgment and flexibility in prioritizing job duties.
  • Show professional behavior in dress attire, written and spoken communication with families, coworkers, and other professionals.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years’ experience which provided extensive public contact in a service-related field.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job may be considered.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment testing which includes an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) and background check.
  • Possession of a valid Class “R” Colorado Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within two weeks of appointment.
  • Will require fingerprinting and a Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ experience with extensive public contact in a human services-related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation for children to and from family time with their caregivers.
  • Use crisis intervention, de-escalation, and critical thinking skills to maintain child physical and emotional safety.
  • Use Trauma Informed Care skills to provide and ensure a safe and secure environment for children being transported to and from family time with their parents.
  • Maintain consistent contact and communication with the Family Time Coach, caregiver for the child, daycare and/or school to ensure accurate pick up and drop off times, locations, and plans.
  • Be aware of and address any special needs or ADA accommodation for the children being transported.
  • Report any concerns that occur during transportation to family time staff, assigned caseworker, and other people as needed.
  • Enters/uploads information into Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information Systems (Trails), ICM, HS Connects, and other databases. Ensures accuracy of data entry.
  • Assist in general program needs including but not limited to scheduling, coverage, transitions, projects, data entry.
  • Respond to communication in a timely manner.
  • Assist in other program areas and provide support as needed to meet business needs.
