About The Position

The FSW -Attendant Care serves a vital role in the day-to-day operations. He/she is the primary provider, in supervising and attending to the safety and daily needs of the youth, while maintaining a therapeutic environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Mandt
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a drug screen, MVR, KBI, Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check and an Adult Registry Check.
  • FBI Fingerprint check
  • Lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer one-year experience with children and families.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the youth’s daily planning routine.
  • Supervises, coaches and mentors the youth.
  • Provides structure for the youth.
  • Serves as an adult role model and a source of feedback to the youth.
  • Always supervises and monitors youth.
  • Provides positive interaction with the youth.
  • Demonstrates respect and the ability to be open minded and nonjudgmental.
  • Assists in the overall cleanliness of the office.
  • Helps to ensure the educational needs of youth are met either through participation with online schooling or attendance at an educational institution.
  • Ensures youth are engaged in activities throughout the day including going out into the community.
  • Ensures youth are provided meals.
  • May transport youth to scheduled appointments such as medical or mental health.
  • Completes timely documentation.
  • May assist with clerical duties as assigned.
  • Reports critical incidents to DCF verbally within 12 hours, written within 24 hours.
  • Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms. Ensures clients’ rights are protected.
  • Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.
  • Ensures clients’ rights are protected.
  • Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.
