About The Position

Family Resource Specialist responsibilities include screening and assessing families who are prenatal or have a newborn to determine the strengths and needs of each family. Areas served include Dubois, Spencer and Warrick counties.

Requirements

• Experience in working with or providing services to children and families and knowledge of infant and child development
• High School Diploma Minimum
• Experience and willingness to work with the culturally diverse populations
• Valid drivers’ license and dependable automobile with vehicle insurance required
• Able to pass required background checks
• Experience and proficiency using computer and internet
• Effective written, verbal, and listening skills

Nice To Haves

• Infant Mental Health endorsement preferred (if available in the state)
• Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist families in accessing appropriate community resources
• Provide education to participants regarding parenting and child development
• Provide information on preventative health safety
• Provide referrals to resources within the communities that we serve
• Traveling to participant homes for visits at times of day that are most convenient to the participants
• Organization of weekly appointments/home visits, documentation and data entry, phone calls, and other such interactions with participants served by Healthy Families or those we are offering services
• Entering these interactions into the Enlite database for record of Healthy Families Indiana
• Participating in weekly supervision, regularly scheduled staff meetings, and required on-going training
