We provide vital support during life's most challenging moments, helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive. We're Hiring! We are seeking a Family Support Specialist to join our team. This full-time position works in our Parent Connection program in Oshkosh and is responsible for establishing trusting relationships with overburdened families by delivering service that is culturally competent, strength-based, family centered, and family directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years' experience in the field of early childhood education, maternal-child health, family life education, home visitation, social work, counseling or related human service field.
  • Ability to assimilate and conceptualize individual client desires and needs into detailed written case plans. These duties require advanced interpersonal skills and knowledge of programs and community resources.
  • Experience in working with or providing services to children and families.
  • An ability to establish trusting relationships.
  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule to meet client needs, which may include evenings.
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with reliable personal vehicle for transporting persons served as needed. Maintain required auto insurance and acceptable driving record requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain regular contact with assigned families, primarily in their home.
  • Manage an active caseload of families. Complete family assessments and develop and implement Individual Family Support Plans based on family needs and preferences.
  • Provide assistance to families to increase competency in the areas of positive parent-child interaction, home environment, safety, nutrition, child growth and development, and child health care.
  • Develop and maintain necessary relationships in the community to execute responsibilities to assigned families and promote goal and objectives.
  • Provide transportation for program participants related to family needs.
