About The Position
Family Support Specialist needed to provide home visiting support services to pregnant and parenting families with children ages 0-5 living in Martinsville, Franklin, Henry, and Patrick Counties enrolled in home visiting services using the Healthy Families America (HFA) model. Position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate evening visits, a valid driver's license with safe driving record, and a minimum of high school diploma/GED. Preferred candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a field related to working with children / families, infant mental health endorsement, bilingual Spanish & English skills, experience working with culturally diverse families and providing services to children (0-5), with a knowledge of maternal health, early childhood development, applicable community resources, documentation and family service plan development experience with computer proficiency. Salary is commensurate with education and experience as it relates to the position. Must be willing to consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening as part of the application process.
