Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with prenatal individuals, and infants and working with or providing services to children and families.
  • Computer skills; including web browsing, e-mail, data entry, and word processing.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Assess family needs within professional boundaries, consulting with appropriate support systems as needed.
  • Honor and establish rapport with all families while maintaining professional standards.
  • Travel is required involving home visits and may include travel to community events, outreach events, CCRC sponsored events, and conferences.
  • Staff members driving on behalf of CCRC may choose to drive a CCRC vehicle or own vehicle and must meet requirements to be an approved driver including holding and maintaining current auto insurance, current California Driver’s License and DMV clearance required.
  • Full-time, typically M-F, ability to at times work a non-traditional work schedule including early mornings, late evenings and weekends.
  • Background requirements determined according to the requirements of the program(s) which the position will be supporting. Background check required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or four-year degree in early childhood education, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Greater than two (2) years of experience working with young children and/or parents in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Home Visiting, or Head Start.
  • Infant mental health endorsement preferred
  • Lactation educator knowledge and/or experience or willingness to be trained preferred.
  • Infant massage educator knowledge and/or experience or willingness to be trained preferred.
  • Familiarity with comprehensive care approaches and the effects of family crisis, child safety concerns, parental substance use, and maternal wellness on child development, parenting, family and general functioning or willingness to be trained preferred
  • Certified Lactation Educator (CLE) or Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred. Ability to converse, read, write and/or translate in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct, and document home visits with families prenatally and/or families with children under 5 years old. 30%
  • Collect, enter, maintain, and report data accurately and on time. 30%
  • Engage in program promotion and participant outreach activities at community events, county-sponsored events, and other events to increase program enrollment. 15%
