Lutheran Services in Iowa has exciting, full time opportunities for Family Support Professionals in the Early Childhood program serving Story and Boone Counties. DUTIES Our Family Support Professionals offer home visits to expectant parents and caregivers of small children, providing parenting education, support, and advocacy. We recognize that parents are their children's first and best teacher, and our Family Support Professionals support families in a variety of services, including home visits, group meetings, and connections to community resources and annual screenings. Family Support Professionals promote optimal child health and development, and problem solve with parents. Family needs and abilities are evaluated on an ongoing basis. Family Support Professional assist families in designing individualized support plans and empower families overtime to achieve their chosen goals. Our home visitation program is part of a nationwide initiative designed to empower families to become and remain healthy and strong. QUALIFICATIONS Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree in a health, education, or human service related field and one or more years of related experience working with children and families. This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
