About The Position

The Family Skills Coach provides direct, skills-based support to families by delivering parent education, addiction recovery guidance, and life skills training that promote stability, safety, and long-term success. As an integral member of the treatment team, this role collaborates in assessment, service planning, and ongoing case management to support family preservation and reunification efforts. The Family Skills Coach serves as both a mentor and resource coordinator, connecting families to community supports while modeling healthy behaviors and problem-solving strategies.

Requirements

  • An individual with strong convictions who is also in agreement with Josiah White’s mission statement, Statement of Faith, and Code of Conduct.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Life Skills Training and Coaching: Provide individualized instruction and support in parenting, addiction recovery, budgeting, time management, meal planning, housekeeping, and other daily living skills.
  • Treatment Team Collaboration: Participate in assessments, service planning, and ongoing case coordination as an active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Case Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate, timely documentation including progress notes, service plans, safety plans, and monthly reports in compliance with agency standards.
  • Resource Coordination and Support: Connect families to community resources, coordinate services, and provide transportation or delivery of essential resources as needed.
  • Family Mentoring and Development: Teach and model skills related to parenting, child development, conflict resolution, self-esteem, and healthy relationships.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Liaison Work: Build and maintain effective relationships with placing agencies, families, and community partners, serving as a positive representative of the organization.
  • Professional Development and Supervision Participation: Engage in clinical supervision, field observations, and ongoing professional development, and apply feedback to improve performance and service delivery.
