Requirements

  • Master’s degree preferred (LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC); Bachelor’s degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field
  • Direct, relevant experience working with families of students receiving special education services
  • Strong interpersonal skills with confidence navigating complex and sensitive situations
  • Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for families, providing consistent communication, consultation, and support across an assigned caseload
  • Partner with parents, guardians, and outside agencies to address concerns, resolve issues, and ensure seamless coordination with school-based teams
  • Support families with guardianship planning, benefits navigation, and student transitions
  • Provide individual and/or group training opportunities for parents, tailored to family and student needs
  • Collaborate closely with all departments to ensure family goals, concerns, and priorities are integrated into student programming
  • Offer individual counseling to students, as appropriate
  • Promote a family-centered, strengths-based approach aligned with best practices in special education and ABA
