About The Position

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in programs offering child and family assessment services, home visiting services, early intervention services, direct experience in working with children ages 0 to 5, parent education services, family support and referral services, or similar required
  • Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, psychology, social work or similar discipline from a four-year university required.
  • Possesses a valid driver's license and state-required auto insurance or reliable transportation depending on business needs.
  • Required to travel extensively to sites (> 50% of the time).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Head Start and CDE requirements.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Working knowledge of community resources to address special needs of clients required.
  • Maintains patient privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities.
  • Participates in, conducts, and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities.
  • Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer programs in a Windows environment.

Responsibilities

  • Recruits families for assigned ECE programs.
  • Assists with follow up for families that are pending health or nutrition documentation in order to start services.
  • Monitors absences and follows up with families to ensure that children are attending class on a regular basis in order to meet program requirements.
  • Completes strength and needs assessment for assigned families.
  • Identifies goals for families that result in self-sufficiency.
  • Enhances parent’s skills and understanding regarding parental engagement and activities that promote literacy.
  • Provides resources and referrals to families.
  • Facilitates the exchange of information between assigned families and content area specialists.
  • Works with Site Supervisors and Teachers to plan and conduct parent committee meetings.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate case notes and other records and prepares periodic reports as required.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
