About The Position

ECU Health Physicians and East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine, located in Greenville, North Carolina, are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Family Physician or Internal Medicine Physician, with additional qualifications in Geriatrics, to join their growing department. This opportunity is a fixed term, or tenure track, academic position at the rank/title of Clinical Assistant Professor Level or higher. The mission of the Geriatrics Division is to care for our older population and prepare all levels of learners for the challenges of caring for older patients. The Department of Family Medicine is one of 11 clinical departments at East Carolina University's Brody School of Medicine and is a nationally recognized leader in Family Medicine education. Located in a 120,000 sq. ft. facility, the department provides a wide variety of comprehensive primary care services for all age groups to include: geriatrics, sports medicine, obstetrical care, office based procedures, nutrition services, counseling, and psychological support in an integrated care model. ECU Health Medical Center, a 974-bed, level 1 trauma facility, is the flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Greenville, NC, population 90,000, is located 80 miles east of Raleigh, and 80 miles northwest of NC’s beautiful Crystal Coast. Requirements

  • board-certified or board-eligible Family Physician or Internal Medicine Physician
  • additional qualifications in Geriatrics

Responsibilities

  • Patient care will be provided in an ambulatory geriatric clinic, inpatient setting, and in a continuing care retirement community with skilled care beds
  • Strong emphasis on teaching, mentoring, advising, supervision of residents, medical students, and other learners
  • Opportunities to develop administrative and scholarly skills
