About The Position

As part of the WISe (Wraparound with Intensive Services) team, the Family Partner uses personal and professional life experiences to provide peer support to youth and families served by the WISe program. The Family Partner encourages clients to assert control over their lives and recovery process by promoting self-advocacy, positive socialization, community living skills, and reliance on natural supports. The Family Partner also serves as a bridge between the family and treatment team to ensure that each other’s information & perspectives are shared and understood. This role requires a willingness to use one’s own experiences to help others and Peer Counselor certification in Washington State. The schedule for this role will be primarily Monday-Friday day shift but may occasionally require work outside of standard business hours to meet the needs of the client families served. Although based in our outpatient center, Family Partners may sometimes meet with individuals and families out in the community at a location that's most convenient for the family. This particular role is based in our Kennewick (Tri-Cities) office and will provide support to families.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be a self-identified consumer of mental health services in stable recovery for a minimum of one year
  • Eligible for Youth & Family Peer Counselor certification provided by the Washington State Healthcare Authority: https://www.hca.wa.gov/billers-providers-partners/behavioral-health-recovery/peer-support
  • Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor
  • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
  • In compliance with state and federal law, Comprehensive Healthcare requires all candidates to complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and background check. Please refer to WAC 388-113-0020 through 388-113-0030 for information on criminal convictions and pending charges that automatically disqualify an individual from working for Comprehensive Healthcare. Responsibilities

  • learning about the family’s story, strengths, concerns, and culture in order to effectively serve as a consultant and advocate for the family
  • providing information about Comprehensive, WISe process & procedures, and the Family Partner role to assist clients to successfully engage with treatment
  • sharing personal experiences of recovery, as appropriate, to build motivation and encourage clients in their treatment
  • participating in team meetings to ensure client access, voice, and choice within the wraparound process
  • providing non-judgmental, unconditional support and consistent hope & encouragement to families
  • assisting the Care Coordinator in development of a self-directed recovery and action plan using wraparound principles
  • completing accurate and timely clinical documentation
