About The Position

The Family/Internal Medicine Physician will provide comprehensive medical care and assist in overseeing clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare to patients. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring clinical staff, managing patient care plans, collaborating with behavioral health specialists, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The Physician will also participate in strategic planning and contribute to enhancing health outcomes within the community served by BCH.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Medicine, including primary care and patient-centered clinical practices
  • Experience in Clinical Supervision and leadership, with a focus on guiding and supporting healthcare teams
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Health, Mental Health, and Psychology to support integrative health services
  • Familiarity with managing patient care in underserved, diverse communities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Active medical license and board certification in family medicine, internal medicine, or a related field
  • Commitment to advancing health equity and community-oriented care
  • Works from established objectives, plans and/or statements of work to complete assignments. Meets objectives independently. Meets deadlines while keeping management appraised of progress or problems.
  • Exercises judgement and initiative to complete all tasks. Obtains assistance from other staff to resolve issues as warranted. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. Communicates effectively with all levels of the internal organization as well as external clients and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to assigned patient panels in accordance with Maryland Scope of Practice
  • Serve as a clinical leader and resource to medical assistants, nursing staff, and support team members
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and leadership to ensure high-quality, coordinated patient care
  • Participate in provider scheduling and on-call coverage as assigned
  • Maintain and manage an appropriate patient panel in collaboration with clinical leadership
  • Participate in new provider orientation and serve as a mentor or preceptor as needed
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, in-service training, and clinical protocol review
  • Utilize the electronic health record (EHR) effectively and in compliance with BCH standards
  • Support Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) initiatives, quality improvement activities, and UDS reporting requirements
  • Participate in provider meetings, medical staff meetings, and quality or compliance initiatives as assigned
  • Promote a collaborative, patient-centered, team-based model of care
  • Demonstrate commitment to BCH’s mission, values, and focus on health equity in all aspects of patient care
