About The Position

The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide consultation, diagnosis and treatment of related medical conditions, under supervision of the Chief Medical Officer.

Current Registered Nurse (RN) License to practice in the State of California
Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
NP Furnishing
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Certification
DEA Certification
Current BLS Certification
Demonstrate the skills to provide age-appropriate care to the clients of the clinic.
Demonstrate knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to interpret information relative to the patients age related needs.
A comprehensive knowledge of primary care in outpatient settings.

Knowledge of EHR and Microsoft Office.

Frequent wrist, hand and finger dexterity to perform fine motor function without tremor.
Full range of body motion including twisting body, pushing, and pulling.
Position requires light to moderate work with 25 lb. maximum weight to lift and carry.
Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

Examines patient, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow-up procedures.
Administers or orders diagnostic tests, blood work, and interprets test results.
Maintains accuracy, completeness and timeliness with medical charts. All medical charts must be closed within 48 hours of the encounter in order to ensure high standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, and managing infections.
Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with medical director concerning appropriate treatment.
Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients and records progress.
Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
Provides health education regarding health maintenance especially in the realm of STD prevention.
Prescreens cases requiring review by the Medical Director.
Participates in staff meetings, planning meetings and other meetings as needed.
Participates in the program's ongoing quality assurance monitoring.
Responsible for all nursing services.
Supervise nurse practitioner students, medical assistants and volunteer health workers.
Provider goals: sees twenty (20) to twenty-four (24) patients per day subject to clinic goals.
As directed by the Chief Medical Officer, performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve organizational and programmatic goals and objectives.
