About The Position

OHSU-HMC Primary Care, Forest Grove provides personalized health care for the entire family, from maternity care through geriatrics. The family medicine providers are committed to preventative, primary, and specialty medical care. The clinic is an HMC owned and operated facility with HMC oversight of staff, policies, and procedures, and this position partners with both OHSU and HMC. Family Medicine clinics serve over 120,000 patients annually, maintaining a personalized approach. Patient care is highly ranked, recognized as #1 among the nation's medical school family medicine departments by U.S. News and World Report multiple times (2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023). The department strongly supports a comprehensive scope of care, including newborn to end-of-life care, care for pregnant individuals, support for patients with substance use disorder (including medication-assisted treatment), and gender-affirming care. Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Licensed in Oregon.
  • M.D./D.O. degree.
  • Graduate medical education in an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency.
  • Capable of providing comprehensive health services.
  • Certified to prescribe.
  • Approved staff privileges at OHSU University Hospital, HMC, and other specific community hospitals.
  • Previous work experience in primary care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full spectrum family medicine care.
  • Work collaboratively with full and part-time faculty to maintain an active practice.
  • Provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.
  • Commit to developing the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation, successful from both a professional and business point of view.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development, and scholarship.
  • Directly see patients in their clinic eight half days per week.
  • Dedicate two half days per week for administrative duties/scholarship duties.
  • Document using the electronic health record and maintain complete and timely patient care documentation consistent with OHSU and Family Medicine policies and procedures.
  • Be available for teaching activities including resident precepting, student precepting, and didactics.
  • Participate in seeing patients during expanded access hours in the clinic, including their share of evenings and weekends, and call coverage.
  • By mutual agreement, this position may include Inpatient Care (at HMC and/or OHSU) with call duties being shared with the faculty inpatient call group.
