About The Position

The role of a Family Focused Caseworker is vital in promoting not only the well-being of families but also in advancing equity and justice within the community. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact lives through culturally sensitive and respectful engagement. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Focused Caseworker to join our team. This position is responsible for building strong, supportive, and strength-based relationships with families, assisting them in identifying and accessing appropriate community resources, and providing guidance on childcare financial information. The ideal candidate will be someone who can engage with families in a positive, respectful, and culturally sensitive manner while ensuring compliance with EEC (Early Education and Care) policies and regulations. Overall, this role is about more than service delivery; it's about advocating for structural changes and empowering families through an understanding of their cultural, historical, and social contexts, which is essential for fostering true equity and inclusivity in community services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • Experience in casework, family support, or community outreach, preferably with a focus on families and children.
  • Must reflect the linguistic, ethnic, and cultural diversity of the families served.
  • Sound understanding of EEC policies, regulations, and practices.
  • Completion of Child and Family Engagement Training, including Reflective Practice (training may be provided if not already completed).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with community resources and ability to assist families in accessing appropriate services.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strength-based relationships with families to foster trust and empowerment.
  • Support families in identifying their needs and connecting with relevant community resources and services.
  • Assist families in navigating and accessing childcare services and financial assistance programs.
  • Engage with families in a manner that is positive, supportive, and respectful of their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Complete the Child and Family Engagement Training, which includes Reflective Practice techniques, to effectively engage with families.
  • Ensure that the services provided reflect the linguistic, ethnic, and cultural diversity of the families served.
  • Stay up-to-date with EEC policies, regulations, and best practices, and ensure that families receive accurate and timely information.
  • Document all case interactions, progress, and referrals in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors and other team members to ensure families are receiving the full support they need.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and stay current on trends in family support and engagement.
