About The Position

This position provides supervision, oversight, training, and support to the Family Connection Specialists at each regional office and in their respective communities. This includes monthly supervision, monitoring of outcome compliance and development and completion of all program reports designated by Missouri Alliance for Children and Families (MACF), Children’s Division (CD) and Director of Foster Care Case Management.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of family dynamics and how this relates to engagement of family.
  • Strong level of understanding related to Missouri Statutes and CD policy as it applies to diligent search.
  • Understand the philosophical values and demonstration of skills related to engaging families and demonstrate a professional alignment with these values.
  • Knowledge of diligent search practice and case management requirements for foster care case management.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and can coordinate staff across a large geographic region.
  • Self-motivator with strong organizational, leadership and management skills.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • This position requires a master’s degree in social work, psychology, juvenile justice, counseling and one year of experience with children and families.
  • OR a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, juvenile justice, guidance and counseling or other comparable human service field and 4 years of related experience.

  • Supervisory experience withing the child welfare field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight, training, skill development and support to Family Connection Specialists through weekly supervision.
  • Conduct monthly site visits to enhance program development, community engagement and other development opportunities.
  • Participate in networking and collaboration opportunities with internal, and community, partners to further the network of services provided, fidelity to family search and engagement models and continual program improvement.
  • Responsible for ongoing program development. This includes internet searching and ongoing discovery of new search resources or progress within the scope of this program, attending work groups, community events and other events that may further the development of this program.
  • Responsible for being trauma aware, sensitive, and responsive to youth, families, and colleagues through the completion of new hire and annual trauma informed education and training.
  • Responsible for continual quality improvement of services provided to MACF partners through reports, audits of internal and external data bases, and supervision with Family Connection Specialists.
  • Prepare, track, and report data related to diligent search activities and family engagement in each region and provide both verbal and written reports to the Director of Foster Care Case Management, MACF leadership and other entities as required.
  • Review and disseminate CD policy and practice updates, as well as changes to Missouri Statutes to Family Connections Specialists, and other individuals as identified.
  • Attend all required training and meetings in accordance with Every Child’s Hope, CD and MACF.
  • Be available to provide trainings, presentations, or other networking opportunities around the state.
  • Interstate travel as the job duties require, may involve evenings and overnight stays.
  • Available to cover all duties and responsibilities of the Family Connections Specialists as needed.
  • Other duties as required/assigned.
