About The Position

Career Services seeks a motivated, creative, and organized graduate-level Management Intern to support initiatives focused on engaging families as partners in student career readiness. This intern will collaborate with Career Services staff to plan, organize, and implement family-facing communications, programming, and content that helps families understand how to support their students’ career development. The intern will assist with developing and coordinating family programming, managing communication plans, and monitoring engagement with career-related articles, emails, and digital content. Assigned projects will support Career Services’ efforts to educate and engage families of prospective and current ASU students and strengthen awareness of career readiness resources and outcomes. Work location is primarily at the Tempe campus; however, the incumbent may be required to travel to off-campus events and other ASU campuses to perform work, driving their own vehicle. This is a 20-hour per week position and may include some nights and weekends, with flexible days and hours based on programming and communication timelines. This Internship program is a short term-position of a 12-month experience or less. An additional one-year extension may be offered contingent upon an annual review. Candidate is required to be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the duration of employment and continuation of employment will be based on enrollment in a Graduate Program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and two-years (2) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Candidate is required to be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the duration of employment and continuation of employment will be based on enrollment in a Graduate Program.

Nice To Haves

  • Enrollment as a graduate student in a closely related field (e.g., higher education, communications, marketing, english, management, student affairs, or related discipline).
  • Knowledge of marketing, communications, or engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of AP writing style and/or experience writing for public-facing audiences.
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles.
  • Experience organizing resources, managing timelines, and establishing priorities.
  • Experience planning, organizing, or coordinating programs or events.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using personal computers and related software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, content management or analytics tools).

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of family-focused career programming (virtual and in-person).
  • Supporting the development and organization of family communications, including emails, newsletters, web content, and digital resources related to career readiness.
  • Crafting, editing, and proofreading career-related content for a family audience in alignment with ASU brand standards.
  • Monitoring and tracking engagement metrics for articles, emails, and posts.
  • Analyzing engagement data and summarizing insights to inform recommendations for improving content and outreach strategies.
  • Maintaining project trackers, timelines, and content calendars to support ongoing family engagement initiatives.
  • Assisting with the ideation, coordination, and writing of articles or spotlights for family-facing platforms (e.g., ASU Family content).
  • Collaborating with Career Services staff and campus partners to ensure consistent messaging and effective outreach to families.
