About The Position

To promote the mission of PATH to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by being an effective team member. As a member of the CMCT team, accompany a CMCT crisis worker when dispatched to provide engagement, crisis intervention and assistance to the youth and family experiencing a crisis. To provide resources and serve as a support for caregivers during the intervention time. Facilitate parent support groups. The CMCT program operates 365 days/year from 8:00am to 10:00pm.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At minimum, full or part time, paid or volunteer experience within the past 3 years.
  • Personal experience as a caregiver to a child involved with behavioral health services, juvenile justice, child welfare or special education.
  • Active Driver’s license and personal car required.

Responsibilities

  • Accompany crisis worker when dispatched and assist in engaging the family and youth; provide crisis interventions and provide added support to the family/caregiver.
  • Utilize approved evidence based tools and practices when providing interventions.
  • Assist the crisis worker to obtaining each individual’s perspective on the crisis and assist in the development of a crisis/safety plan.
  • Assist families in developing and accessing natural supports.
  • Assist CMCT team members to engage families and enhance their understanding of the family’s experiences.
  • Assist in the linkage of youth and family to the CRC or other 24/7 crisis staff and remain with the youth and family until the connection and collaboration is complete.
  • Be knowledgeable about local youth and family resources.
  • Provide up to 72 hours of intervention and support to the youth and family
  • Develop and facilitate parent support groups to provide skill building and support mutual support among caregivers
  • Empower families to identify and build upon their strengths.
