What it's like to be a Family Advocate As a Family Advocate, where you'll have the rewarding task of supporting a range of families - approximately 32 to 40 - in achieving their family and school readiness goals. Your role will involve conducting home visits, coordinating crucial services like medical and dental care, and fostering family self-sufficiency. Be a champion of family engagement, organizing activities to strengthen bonds and empower families. As a vital link between families and resources, your work will make a lasting impact on the community. What you need to be successful You'll need either a BA in Human Services or a related field, or 4 years of Head Start experience showcasing strong parent engagement skills. Your ability to connect with families, cultivate relationships, and empower parents will be key to success in this role. Proficiency in relevant software and tools will aid in efficiently coordinating services and tracking progress. A passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and an empathetic approach are essential for building trust and rapport with families. Requirements
