About The Position

The Asset Management Co‑op will help support the day‑to‑day operational and technical performance of BlueWave’s operating solar and storage assets. This Fall 2026 Co‑op (July - December) is designed for students currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and based in the Boston area. This role provides hands‑on exposure to asset operations, project onboarding, data analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration. It is especially well‑suited for students interested in renewable energy, engineering, operations, or data analytics. Please note that tis is a 6‑month Co‑op position running from July through December 2026. The role follows a hybrid schedule, with Co‑op students expected to work Monday through Friday and commute into BlueWave’s Boston office 2-3 days per week.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical disciplines strongly preferred), given the hands‑on technical elements of this Co-op role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with datasets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in renewable energy and asset operations.
  • Previous internship, project work, or coursework related to energy systems, data analysis, or engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL, Python, R, or BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus (not required).

Responsibilities

  • Support Asset Operations & Monitoring
  • Monitor solar and storage asset performance using SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), a centralized platform that allows operators to remotely track and manage the performance of power generation assets, along with asset management systems.
  • Validate production and financial data used for internal and external reporting.
  • Assist with monthly performance summaries and variance analysis.
  • Project Onboarding & Early‑Stage Asset Setup
  • Support onboarding of new solar and storage sites as they transition from the construction phase into fully operational assets with the Asset Management team.
  • Assist with activities when new sites come online, including documentation review, data verification, and initial system setup.
  • Help develop asset operation plans used to guide long‑term management of each site.
  • Asset Registry & Technical Documentation
  • Build and maintain elements of the asset registry, including tracking equipment, components, and warranties.
  • Assist in completing component lists and technical documentation required for full lifecycle management.
  • Support review of as-built and single-line diagrams and other engineering-adjacent documentation.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work with Legal, Finance, Accounting, Project Development, Engineering, and Project Execution teams to resolve project‑related questions and support operational needs.
  • Research & Reporting
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc reports based on operational data.
  • Assist in preparing agriculture production reports for agrivoltaic projects in coordination with farming partners and consultants.
  • Conduct operational or market research to support portfolio strategy and risk assessments.
  • Compile quarterly ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reporting information.
