About The Position

Adjunct Assistant Professor, Appointment Stream, Part-Time Temporary(4 month) faculty member in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program (DCP), Department of Community Health Services and Rehabilitation Science, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. CONTENT AREA(S): The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for the development and instruction of diagnostic imaging courses in the DCP curriculum consistent with accreditation standards set forth by the Council of Chiropractic Education (CCE). All said, instruction is aimed at developing the knowledge, skills, clinical reasoning, and professionalism necessary for graduating students to function as evidence-based, primary musculoskeletal practitioners in different clinical settings. Requirements

Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) awarded by an accredited University/College of Chiropractic.
Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology (DACBR).
Active DC license.

Nice To Haves

Clinical practice experience as a chiropractor in an interdisciplinary medical setting.
Relevant teaching experience of diagnostic imaging coursework.
Formal training in evidence-based medicine/practice.
Reside within reasonable driving distance to the University of Pittsburgh.

Responsibilities

Teach Diagnostic Imaging 1 course in the DCP aligned with the diagnosis and management of spinal and extraspinal disorders prevalent in contemporary chiropractic practice.
Stimulate classroom (virtual or otherwise) discussions and student participation in learning activities.
Create and/or compile pertinent course materials for distribution to students, including (but not limited to): syllabi with course learning objectives specifically mapped to CCE (meta)competencies/goals, notes, lab guides, online resources, and/or bibliographies of specialized materials for reading and/or writing assignments.
Create and/or compile, administer, and evaluate student-written examinations for the purpose of assigning student grades.
