About The Position

Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University and the Winship Brain Tumor Center are recruiting two tenured or tenure-track faculty members at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level to expand our research portfolio in brain tumor biology, therapeutics, and population health. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of innovation and a clear vision for developing cutting-edge research programs that advance the field of neuro-oncology. Research Areas of Particular Interest:Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:• Tumor immunology and immune modulation in the central nervous system• CAR T cell immunotherapy for brain tumors• Myeloid cell biology and therapeutic targeting in the brain tumor microenvironment• Development and validation of tissue-based biomarkers for brain tumors• Brain tumor organoid technology and patient-derived models• Novel therapeutic discovery and translational research leading to new treatment approaches• Population-based studies of brain tumor epidemiology and health outcomes These are open rank positions. Candidates of sufficient national reputation and accomplishment will be considered for leadership roles within the Winship Brain Tumor Center and/or Winship Cancer Institute, as appropriate to their expertise and availability. Opportunities for faculty appointments exist in multiple Emory academic departments affiliated with the Winship Brain Tumor Center, including: Hematology and Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Pharmacology, Human Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, Radiology, Rehab Medicine, Epidemiology (Rollins School of Public Health), and other relevant departments based on the candidate's background and research focus. Note: This position requires in-person responsibilities at Emory University. Remote work is not an option. Emory reserves the right to update this requirement with appropriate notice.

Requirements

  • PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree
  • Established research program with active or recently completed federal funding demonstrating strong potential for continued extramural support
