The Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSU SOM) and Wayne Health, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCSM) seek a faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor level to lead the Sleep Section within the Division. The successful candidate will have experience and interest in sleep research. As a faculty member of WSU SOM, the candidate will be expected to be involved in funded research and to establish an innovative, independent research program that will attract and maintain extramural funding. The successful candidate must demonstrate outstanding record of scholarship, publications and productivity in basic or translational research involving sleep. A record of current or past extramural funding is required. The PCCSM program is a collaborative effort between Wayne Health (WH), the clinical entity, and WSU SOM. As a member of WH and the Division of PCCSM, the physician will participate in the clinical activities of the division including rounding on the clinical services and staffing outpatient clinics. The candidate will also play a role is training of residents, Sleep fellows and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellows, and will have the opportunity to participate in medical school basic science education based on the candidate’s research focus.
