About The Position

Family Medicine Faculty Location: Chambersburg, PA — Driving Distance from Baltimore and Washington, D.C., halfway between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. WellSpan Health, a mission-driven, physician-led integrated health system, is seeking a full-time, board-certified Family Medicine physician with teaching experience to join our ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program in scenic Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. This is a unique opportunity to be on the ground floor of our inaugural residency program, supported by a deeply committed academic and clinical team. Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required
  • Licenses: Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required
  • Courses and Training: Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice, or Board eligible. Upon Hire Required or Completion of a Family Practice residency. Upon Hire Required and Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of York Hospital. Upon Hire Required
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Teaching skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in resident recruitment, evaluation, and professional development
  • Shape the curriculum and clinical rotations to meet ACGME standards
  • Mentor and advise residents in our unopposed 6-6-6 program
  • Engage with the community and contribute to lifelong wellness initiatives
  • Collaborate with two other FM residencies within the WellSpan system
  • Future academic opportunities with the new regional medical school campus of the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University at WellSpan Health in York, PA.
  • Ongoing faculty development through mentoring, conferences, and leadership training
  • Department support to complete the STFM Residency Faculty Fundamentals Certificate Program
  • Opportunities to contribute to scholarly activity and quality improvement initiatives
