About The Position

This position will assist students and supervise/evaluate student performance in the Dental Hygiene clinic and provide didactic, clinical, and pre-clinical instruction in dental hygiene courses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene or related discipline.
• Possession of current Dental Hygienist Licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Possession of current Dental Hygienist Anesthesia Certification in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• One (1) year experience equivalent to three (3) days per week or more in a dental or dental hygiene practice.
• Possession of or eligibility for dental or dental hygienist license in Pennsylvania if required by course assignment.
• Good oral and written communications skills.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
• Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty, and staff.
• Must be certified in CPR.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues.
• Must possess a current Hepatitis B vaccination with willingness to maintain.
• Frequent and quick movement from one student station to another is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide didactic, clinical, and pre-clinical instruction in dental hygiene courses.
• Maintain accurate written records of Student performance.
• Counsel students on individual progress.
• Maintain office hours according to contractual agreement.
• Assume limited responsibility for laboratory development, coordination, and maintenance.
• Attend Department meetings as requested.
