About The Position

The FP&R Manager is responsible for leading site-wide implementation of Global FP&R Standards to drive continuous improvement. The FP&R manager will be a member of the site Leadership Team under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing. The FP&R works within a structure that requires interface with all levels and functions of the organization, and as such has to be able to build and nurture relationships with a wide variety of organizational partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 8 years of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience leveraging Lean Manufacturing Principles (FP&R, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Experience with OPERA, Tableau, Other CI Tools, and FP&R strategy development and Implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive creative and agile strategies across all FP&R Standards (Management Systems, 5S & Visual Workplace, Autonomous Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Productivity & CI, Production Planning, People Capability, and Engineering Documentation).
  • Partner with the Leadership Team in the development of the site Strategic Plan and to ensure KPI performance is monitored and communicated.
  • Lead and mentor the FP&R team which includes the FP&R Coordinator and the Continuous Improvement Engineer.
  • Ensure FP&R activities are aligned with the site’s Capacity Growth Plan, Equipment Master Plan, Operational Strategy, Labor and People Strategy and Communication Strategies.
  • Coordinate development of a factory responsibility matrix to identify key roles and responsibilities related to FP&R Standards implementation.
  • Develop and manage budgets as needed.
  • Ensure that a governance process is in place to review data in the operating databases (OPERA, Tableau, etc.) to ensure that it is reflective of actual operations.
  • Partner with the site Quality Manager and develop a site-wide approach to ensure that current standard procedures are available for line operations, changeovers, and inspections within the factory.
  • Ensure that annual FP&R self-assessments are conducted and the site action plan is updated.
  • Partner with focus factory management and team leaders to coordinate 5S implementation across all individual equipment, lines, tools and production/general areas.
  • Ensure that systems are in place to display visual elements using consistent color and symbol standards in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with the site EOHS Manager and Quality Manager to ensure that Site Visual Workplace Plan should include all EOHS and Quality Facility Standard Performance expectations.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager to drive operational performance through the FP&R program.
  • Ensure that plans are in place so that Visual Displays communicate all static information requirements as outlined in the 5S & Visual Workplace Standard.
  • Establish a system to review Standard Daily Meeting Metrics periodically to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to progress autonomous maintenance.
  • Partner with the Maintenance to further develop the Planned Maintenance program. Such as: A system is established to review Planned Maintenance Metrics periodically to ensure continuous improvement o All equipment and infrastructure has a Maintenance Plan that meets performance expectations. Ensure Maintenance Plans are optimized (condition based maintenance) for preventive and predictive maintenance based on historical equipment performance.
  • Partner with the Production Planner to ensure further development of the Production Planning Program.
  • Partner with Human Resources to further develop people capability and periodic skill gap analyses are conducted.
  • The FP&R Manager should complete a PSM 100 workshop within one calendar year from hire date.
