Raytheon Vision Systems is seeking an Associate Director Focal Plane Operations (FPO) Factory Operations Manager (FOM), for the Goleta, California location. In this role you will be responsible leading overall semiconductor manufacturing operations for the Focal Plane Array manufacturing line, with annual revenue of approximately $300M. You will be responsible for leadership and talent development opportunities for an organization of > 200 employees across multiple functions including Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Supply Chain while maintaining a safe work environment for all RVS employees and instilling a culture of continuous improvement. The Factory Operations Manager will provide cross-functional leadership of the multi-disciplined RVS team to include the coordination of manufacturing resources and strategy required to support ongoing semiconductor manufacturing operations for cost, quality and schedule, ensuring operational excellence across the manufacturing process from planning through production, shipment and customer support. This role is expected to champion Enterprise Collaboration by bringing best in class solutions that deliver innovative manufacturing and advanced capabilities that create sustained growth while driving affordability. This leader will set vision, think strategically, and implement necessary improvements to improve manufacturing cycle time and cost across their areas of responsibility. This leader will drive near-term and long-term results with respect to technical performance, cost, and schedule. They will have to influence business decisions of functional leadership to drive and execute successful change. This will include having to influence leaders up to VP level, requiring the use of data and understand what levers are needed to make a case for change and present business case and ROI to the leaders of other organizations. The Focal Plane Factory Operations Manager is a member of the RVS Operations Leadership Team, with responsibilities including site level strategy and communication, shopload/staffing forecasts, identifying and submitting capital expenditure requests, facility plans, Risk Review Board, Corrective Action Board, and site safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and typically a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Management experience in a Manufacturing/Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and/or Production environment is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • DoD Clearance: Secret

Responsibilities

  • Predictably build and deliver high mix semiconductor products, meeting daily/monthly revenue, on time delivery (OTD) and productivity targets.
  • Drive manufacturing program execution including estimate at complete (EAC) and earned value (EV) performance, execution within annual operating plan (AOP), and achieving positive variance to budgets and rates.
  • Partner closely with the program management as well as internal and external customers to ensure alignment and accountability at all levels.
  • Define and execute FPO manufacturing strategy, culture, and results throughout operations, while engaging with cross functional teams to sponsor and drive continuous improvement efforts furthering the quality and the efficiency of the process line.
  • Develop and maintain a robust staffing and talent development pipeline for appropriate build, test, and leadership competencies.
  • Work in a fast paced, customer/program driven environment, leading strategic growth with regular interactions with senior leaders across Raytheon Operations and other functions.
  • Directly manage senior engineers and managers within Factory, Product Engineering, and Yield Engineering teams.
  • Handle performance management activities, goal setting, career counseling, compensation planning, and employee training and /or talent development while managing employees and employee relations issues within varying levels of the Organization.
