About The Position

Eaton’s Fuel and Motion Controls division is currently seeking a Factory Manager at our Jackson, MS facility. Relocation assistance is available from within the US to the Jackson, MS area. Located at one of Eaton’s most rapidly expanding Aerospace facilities, this position offers a unique opportunity to gain end to end exposure to plant operations and prepare for progression into Plant Manager roles. The expected annual salary range for this role is $146000 - $215000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. What you’ll do: This role reports to directly to Plant Manager and is responsible for overall leadership for site operations in Jackson, MS including the machine shop, OEM, and Final Operations. Overall responsibility for leading manufacturing team in achieving production schedule, product quality, product cost, and employee safety goals. Drives performance and deploys continuous improvement framework (CIF) to achieve or exceed financial plans, employee engagement and strategic goals. Leverages resources and motivates team members to create high performance culture.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Manufacturing Operations directly within a plant/factory
  • Minimum two (2) years of direct supervisory experience
  • Aerospace industry experience required
  • A minimum of one (1) year of continuous improvement or Lean experience
  • U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158
  • Role is open to relocation to the Jackson, MS area. Candidate must reside within hiring country.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS or CSCP Certification
  • 3 years prior management of managers experience
  • Knowledge of MES or SCADA systems
  • Prior experience in a unionized environment
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
  • Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic
  • P&L and basic financials concepts knowledge
  • Change management and strong leadership skills
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts (production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving)

Responsibilities

  • Manage 3 direct reports; including machine shop, OEM, and Final Operations Manager, with a total team ~200 people
  • Manage and direct all site manufacturing activities to ensure completion of customer requirements.
  • This role is responsible for the following key measures: Sales, Safety (TRCR, DACR), Quality (DPPM), On-Time Delivery, Productivity and First Pass Yield. Additional sub metrics of these key metrics are also included.
  • Assess performance indicators and take appropriate actions to ensure schedule, cost and quality goals are met.
  • Assure policies, procedures, and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant manufactured product.
  • Provide leadership and commitment in support of continuous improvements in quality, productivity and delivery performance through the deployment of continuous improvement framework
  • Support product design organization through new product introduction phase to ensure customer manufacturing delivery times are met
  • Assure that Environmental, Health, and Safety issues are addressed considering local regulations, Eaton policy, and good corporate citizenship
  • Develop budgets and resource plans, and monitors performance, to achieve product delivery and cost requirements
  • Coordinate and assist with plant initiatives, participating on teams in order to drive best practices across enterprise
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to resolve labor relations issues as they arise within production
  • Achieve labor productivity and lead cost reduction efforts to drive factory cost out
  • Champion implementation of MESH to achieve improvement in year over year safety performance measures
  • Maintain a working knowledge of product-support related data such as repair manuals, parts lists, service bulletins, price catalogs, etc. in order to provide customer support as well as to identify business opportunities
  • Responsible for production processes and product audits to verify compliance to Component Maintenance Manuals and other work instructions, which are critical to maintaining FAA and Customer approval
  • Provide vision and strategy for OEM, Spares, Machine Shop, and Aftermarket operations in order to inspire teams to improved performance development, engagement, and retention
