Job SummaryA Facilities Unit Director interacts with customers, provides information about the organization’s services, and may respond to customer complaints if needed. This role devises strategies and policies to ensure that an organization meets its goals by planning, directing, and coordinating daily operational activities. Problem-solving is required to identify issues and recognize shortcomings and effectively carry out solutions. People in this role assess different options and choose the best course of action, often on a daily basis. He or she must be able to communicate clearly and persuasively to effectively discuss issues and negotiate with others, and explain their policies and decisions to those within and outside the organization. They will take a hands-on approach and perform various tasks within the Facilities, as well as direct the maintenance and repair of the buildings and equipment including HVAC, general maintenance and renovation. This position will also manage the Facilities team members at multiple locations.
