Internal Position A job opening exists for the above position. The employee must NOW meet the qualifications required to perform each task of the job in a satisfactory manner Must be qualified to operate a sit down forklift , powered mechanical cleaning (floor scrubber) and other powered equipment in a capable and safe manner. Responsible for performing a wide range of minor assembly, facilities maintenance, and custodial tasks, including repairs to walls, flooring, lighting, ceilings, plumbing, and roofs, as well as installing PPE hardware and sealing facility cracks. Duties also include safe operation of pallet jacks, lifts, cleaning equipment, and waste compactors; assisting with non-routine tasks such as moving furniture and unloading deliveries; supporting equipment shutdowns for cleaning; maintaining interior and exterior cleanliness; sorting uniforms; handling trash and recycling; inspecting the American flag; and identifying and reporting equipment or facility issues to supervision. Daily operations require ability to lift maximum 50 lbs. consistently using safe lifting techniques. Must be able to read, write, comprehend and follow instructions in written/verbal English accurately and efficiently. Must have the ability to perform required clerical work, which involves mathematical skills. Frequently works while standing and climbing on ladders, scaffolds, scissor lift, walkways and working platforms. Performs work in any and all areas of the facility including outside areas. The current wage rate for this Job Classification is Group 4 of CBU Contract. This position will be awarded to a qualified applicant in accordance with merit, ability, and seniority provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
