About The Position

The Missile Solutions Segment of L3Harris is currently seeking an Industrial Mechanic supporing our facilites department at our Orange, VA site. The Industrial Mechanic will be responsible for tenant improvements and new construction of a growing facility. Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, and layout. Operating of hand and power tools along with operating of heavy equipment. Compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations. This position may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior Mechanical experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior Mechanical experience
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Valid VA driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• Experience Welding (tig/stick/mig) is strongly preferred
• Heavy equipment rigging is strongly preferred
• Operation of fabrication equipment (press brake/shear) preferred
• Operation of manual machining equipment (lathe/mill) preferred

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of existing facilities
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Working with hand and power tools
• Operate material handling equipment (forklift, crane, hoist, man lift, snow plow, etc.) in a safe manner
• New construction
• 6S General shop upkeep, cleaning, or organizing work area
