About The Position

DMBA (Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators) is a non-profit organization that administers benefits for companies who are owned or affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Facility Specialist is responsible for overseeing facility maintenance, security, emergency response, and management of supply and maintenance costs. This role supports company gatherings and professional events, ensuring all activities align with DMBA and departmental policies. The Facility Specialist works closely with department leadership and external vendors to maintain a safe, functional, and professional environment for all DMBA employees and visitors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Utah driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (occasionally up to 75 lbs.) without assistance
  • Good mechanical skills and basic knowledge of building trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a dynamic environment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally (primarily for training/education)
  • On-call availability after business hours
  • Capable of performing physical labor and working in both office and maintenance environments

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in facility operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Business
  • Experience with disaster recovery and contingency planning

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Collaborate with HR and department leaders on space planning and facility needs Respond to maintenance requests and supply orders from associates
  • Purchasing: Maintain inventory of office and kitchen supplies Negotiate costs and maintain relationships with supply vendors Assist with annual budgeting for supplies, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • Maintenance: Inspect facilities and perform minor repairs Schedule and oversee preventative maintenance for building systems and company vehicles Coordinate with landlord, property management team, and service vendors to ensure facility cleanliness and functionality
  • Security: Provide a safe work environment and respond to building emergencies Develop and update security and incident response procedures Coordinate security and emergency training for staff Monitor and maintain CCTV and access control systems
  • Other Duties: Manage on-site and off-site storage and inventory Support disaster recovery and business continuity plans Provide minor maintenance services and coordinate disposal of surplus equipment Maintain company vehicle and equipment Act as a liaison with external security and emergency services as needed
