About The Position

The Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Facility Services Assistant Director. This executive-level position provides statewide leadership and oversight of all youth correctional facilities and transitional camps, ensuring safe, consistent, and effective operations aligned with OYA’s mission and public safety goals. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role sets strategic direction for facility operations, establishes policy and program priorities, and ensures responsible stewardship of a significant biennial budget. The Assistant Director provides direct oversight to facility superintendents and senior leaders, supports leadership development and succession planning, and ensures workforce practices align with state laws, labor agreements, and agency values. This position also works closely with the Agency Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Directors, legislators, the Governor’s Office, community partners, and other stakeholders. We are looking for a leader committed to equity, integrity, and positive organizational culture, with the ability to guide large teams and drive meaningful statewide impact for Oregon’s youth and communities. Requirements

  • Seven years of management experience; OR Four years of management experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position.
