About The Position

The Facility Security Senior Specialist, is responsible for assisting in the implementation, administration, and oversight of the organization’s industrial security program and ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD SAP/SCI policies, government directives, and company specific policies and procedures. This position is a direct report to the Facility Security Officer 2 Supervisor and supports both facility-level and program-specific security requirements and works closely with internal teams, government customers, prime and subcontractors. Duties involve ensuring compliance in the areas of personnel security/visitor control, information system security, physical security, document control. Requires rapid responses on multiple tasks to identify solutions for emerging requirements, frequently with short turnaround times. Provide briefings on the overall security programs and related responsibilities. Maintain document control accountability systems; receives, generates and accounts for classified materials.

Requirements

  • Excellent written communications, aptitude for details, strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Possess or obtain FSO certification (curriculum for possessing facilities via DCSA) within 6 months of hire.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite; Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with current NISP/SAP/SCI/COMSEC security regulations to include physical security and TEMPEST.
  • Self-starter, experience in remote site office environment or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficiency with maintaining and administration of security databases, to include Defense Information Security (DISS) and Security Information Management System (SIMS) database desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management (or related field) is required.
  • May substitute additional experience for education.
  • Requires 2-3 years of DoD and security management work experience implementing policies and procedures in accordance with directives and requirements.
  • Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Current in scope Secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the FSO in managing the overall facility security program under the NISP.
  • Serve as the primary security interface for assigned classified contracts, including SCI/SAP if applicable.
  • Implement and enforce program-specific security requirements in accordance with the DD254, ICDs, or DoDM 5205.07 series.
  • Conduct program indoctrinations, badge management, and access control for closed/restricted areas.
  • Maintain personnel security clearances (PCLs) in DISS and eApp.
  • Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and annual training (Initial, Refresher, Insider Threat, etc.).
  • Prepare for and support Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other customer inspections and self-inspections.
  • Oversee the completion and adherence to the security self-inspection programs as well as the actions to correct deficiencies and improve the overall security posture.
  • Ensure compliance with classified storage, access control, visit requests, and foreign travel reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, marking, and handling requirements for program material.
  • Obtain and maintain facility and space accreditation as appropriate.
  • Ensure security oversight reviews meet or exceed established requirements and maintain compliance.
  • Maintain and update security documentation (SPPs, training records, FCL documentation).
  • Conduct administrative inquiries of incidents involving non-compliance with security requirements.
  • Work with security leadership to investigate, prepare, and submit written investigative reports.
  • Manage physical and IT security coordination with the ISSM/ISSO as needed.
  • Change door and safe combinations; respond, determine reason(s) for and takes corrective action on after hours facility alarms.
  • Develop and manage an active and ongoing security education and training program structured to meet the needs of site operations.
  • Serve as COMSEC Account Manager and/or Alternate CAM and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support classified meetings, secure communications, and courier operations.
  • Contribute directly to the preparation for and response to on-site emergency conditions.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of security community policy changes, communicate pertinent changes, and manage implementation of compliant solutions
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external and internal customers.
  • Must use sound judgment and good business practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
