POSITION OVERVIEW DEFTEC Corporation is seeking a Facility Security Officer to manage and oversee the company's industrial security program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program requirements. This role supports our cleared programs and works closely with leadership, employees, and government partners to ensure full compliance and support mission success.

Requirements

  • Top Secret Clearance
  • 5+ Years of experience as an FSO or Assistant FSO supporting or managing an industrial security program governed by the National Industrial Security Program.
  • Bachelor's degree or an additional 4 years of directly relevant experience
  • Familiarity with DISS/NBIS, NISS, continuous vetting workflows, and personnel security processes.
  • Ability to interpret and apply requirements from contract security guides, DD254s, and regulatory guidance.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external government representatives.
  • Ability to complete mandatory FSO training within applicable timelines
  • Completion of CDSE FSO training (Orientation, Program Management).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting SAP, SCI, or other special security programs.
  • ISP certification or similar professional credential

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the company's security program under 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), ensuring proper safeguarding, handling, and control of classified information.
  • Serve as the primary interface with DCSA for assessments, reporting, and program oversight.
  • Maintain facility clearance (FCL) records, manage Key Management Personnel requirements, and ensure eligibility actions are completed.
  • Administer personnel security (PERSEC) functions, including clearance sponsorships, investigations, continuous vetting, briefings, debriefings, and visit authorizations using DISS/NBIS.
  • Deliver required security briefings including initial, annual, and termination briefings, insider threat awareness, and any customer‑required training.
  • Maintain the company's Standard Practice Procedures and ensure contract security requirements (DD Form 254) are implemented throughout operations.
  • Conduct annual self‑inspections, document findings, and manage corrective actions to maintain assessment readiness.
  • Coordinate with the Insider Threat Program Senior Official on insider threat requirements, reporting, and training.
  • Support international security requirements, foreign travel reporting, and other special program needs as required by customer contracts.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting of adverse information, security incidents, foreign contacts, and other mandatory notifications.
  • Work closely with program managers, HR, and leadership to ensure day‑to-day program needs are supported and security requirements are met.
  • Write and maintain documented procedures for security in processing and customer procedures for each contract
  • Collect employee PII data to complete required forms such as SECNAVs, DBIDS and MP-ICAM forms for CAC application and other credential processing
  • Ensure all required RFVs are promptly submitted to DCSA and other requesting agency security departments for new hires or period renewals
  • Develop employee security packages for all new hires requiring agency-specific documentation for contract onboarding
  • Submit any required VARs for new hires onboarding and existing employees tasked to attend meetings at various locations a/o classification levels
  • Consistent follow-up with all outstanding action items employees are responsible for completing
