About The Position

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) plays a critical role in ensuring the protection and integrity of classified information and sensitive assets within an organization. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining security programs in compliance with government regulations and contractual requirements. The FSO serves as the primary liaison between the company and government security agencies, facilitating communication and ensuring adherence to security policies. By managing security clearances, conducting risk assessments, and overseeing security training, the FSO helps mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities. Ultimately, the FSO ensures that the organization operates within the legal framework while safeguarding national security interests.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the security responsibilities.
  • Active or eligible for a security clearance at the Secret or Top Secret level.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility security management or a related security role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NISPOM and other relevant federal security regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple security tasks and compliance requirements simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Facility Security Officer (CFSO) credential or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working within the defense, aerospace, or government contracting industries.
  • Familiarity with information security principles and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead security training programs and develop security policies.
  • Experience with security incident investigation and reporting procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the facility security program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other applicable regulations.
  • Manage and monitor personnel security clearances, including processing clearance requests and maintaining accurate records.
  • Conduct regular security training and awareness programs for employees to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Perform security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate potential threats to classified information and assets.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for government security representatives and coordinate security inspections and audits.
  • Investigate and report security incidents or violations promptly, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in security regulations and implement necessary adjustments to the security program.

  • Ensure quarterly self-audits are completed and compliant
  • Ensure you are present during Government Audits
