About The Position

The Facilities & Security Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of building operations, physical security, and workplace safety programs. This role ensures the organization’s facilities are safe, secure, compliant, and well-maintained while supporting business operations. In addition, this position serves as the company’s Facility Security Officer (FSO), overseeing compliance with applicable government security requirements, managing classified programs (when applicable), and acting as the primary liaison with government security agencies . This role requires an active security clearance or a lapsed clearance eligible for reinstatement.

Requirements

  • Active security clearance or lapsed clearance with the ability to reinstate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Safety, Security Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–8+ years of experience in facilities, security, safety, or a related field, with increasing responsibility
  • Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or defense-related environment
  • Knowledge of industrial security requirements preferred
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety programs
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Must be US Citizen , per US government contracts
  • Requires availability for occasional after-hours support, including both emergency response and planned activities (e.g., testing, maintenance, or operations) that require on-site safety presence
  • Work is performed in office, warehouse, production, and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout facilities for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, or equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to work in environments that may include noise, dust, or varying temperatures.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

  • Facilities Management Oversee the maintenance, repair, and overall operation of company facilities, including office, engineering, and production spaces
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs to ensure facility reliability and efficiency
  • Lead facility planning efforts, including space utilization, upgrades, and capital improvement projects
  • Ensure facilities meet all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Physical Security & Access Control Oversee physical security systems, including access control, alarms, surveillance, and visitor management
  • Establish and maintain site security protocols and procedures
  • Manage badging/access systems and ensure appropriate access levels are maintained
  • Conduct periodic security assessments and implement improvements as needed
  • Partner with leadership to address security risks and mitigation strategies
  • Safety & Compliance Lead and maintain workplace safety programs in alignment with OSHA and company standards
  • Drive a culture of safety through training, communication, and proactive risk identification
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions (including near-miss programs)
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations
  • Partner with internal teams to continuously improve safety processes and performance
  • Facility Security Officer (FSO) Responsibilities Serve as the designated Facility Security Officer in accordance with government requirements
  • Maintain compliance with all industrial security regulations and requirements
  • Oversee personnel security clearances, briefings, and debriefings
  • Manage classified material handling, storage, and accountability (if applicable)
  • Act as the primary liaison with government security representatives (e.g., DCSA)
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of required security documentation and reports
  • Lead ongoing communication, training, and education initiatives to ensure employees understand security requirements, responsibilities, and best practices, including proper handling of sensitive or classified information
  • Program Oversight Develop policies, procedures, and best practices to support operational excellence
  • Manage budgets related to facilities, security systems, and safety initiatives
  • Track and report on key metrics, risks, and program effectiveness
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, HR, operations, and leadership
