About The Position

GSK is currently looking for a Facility Process Maintenance Technician to join our team in Rockville, MD. In this role you be responsible for mechanical maintenance, service calls, and in-house repairs throughout the facility. They perform work in mechanical maintenance trades and perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. They also make periodic or special inspections of equipment to ensure operability and to determine necessary repairs. They may work from rough sketches and drawings. They must also understand, and abide by, applicable cGMP requirements. The Process Technician will be responsible for providing input to the Facilities Manager when discussing departmental decisions concerning maintenance and repair of utility and process equipment. The typical work hours for this position are a standard workday and 40 hour work week, with shift work being a possibility depending on manufacturing demand. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience working in facilities maintenance, utilities, or equipment support within a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building utility systems and bio-pharmaceutical production equipment.
  • Must work effectively with outside contractors.
  • Works on assignments that are extremely complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.
  • Assists with the development and improvement of department procedures, documents, and operating and maintenance practices.
  • Works and participates effectively in a team environment; within the department, with other departments, and with outside contractors.
  • As required, will serve as the on-call technician 24 hours a day for emergency situations that may arise.
  • Requires supervision of outside contractors performing facility and equipment-related services.
  • Requires technician level operation of the computerized maintenance system database
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Re-enforce EHS rules and policies within work area
  • Elevate any identified EHS risks, for which assistance is needed in order to mitigate, through tiered accountability
