About The Position

The Facility Mechanic I provides mechanical support for manufacturing/packaging operations associated with the production of Nutramax products. This individual is responsible for the mechanical operation of the facility. Roles and Responsibilities: Where applicable, the Facility Mechanic will be responsible for maintenance of all building systems, including but not limited to; plumbing, lighting, fire safety systems, elevator systems, sheetrock work, painting. Facility Mechanics interact with external vendors or contractors for services associated with the mechanical operations of production equipment and facilities. In addition, this individual is responsible for helping maintain the spare parts inventory and adhering to all established Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Precautions (i.e., lockout/tagout). Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives. Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment. Regular attendance is required. Requirements Minimum Requirements: The Facility Mechanic will have a working knowledge from a cGMP or pharmaceutical environment, preferably as a mechanic. Required experience includes mechanical elements and troubleshooting skills of equipment and facilities. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all staff levels. Additional overtime may be required. Regularly required to stand and bend Must be able to use hands and arms to lift and reach Ability to climb up and down stairs Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours Ability to lift, pull and push a minimum of 50 pounds Ability to use both arms to push, pull, or lift. Ability to bend and squat Education and Experience This position requires a high school or trade school diploma or GED, plus a minimum of 2 years of hands-on mechanic experience. Supervisory Responsibilities : None Nutramax desires to provide a drug-free, healthy, and safe workplace. We hold a zero-tolerance policy for drug use. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a preemployment background check, drug screen (subject to applicable law) and reading comprehension test.
