About The Position

Babcox Media Inc. ( www.babcox.com ), an Akron, Ohio-based B2B print, digital and video media company with concentration in the automotive aftermarket, powersports, performance, collision, commercial fleet, transmission, engine building and tire industries, is seeking a full time Facility Manager . Babcox Media owns and operates more than a dozen market-leading media brands including but not limited to Tire Review, BodyShop Business, Shop Owner, Fleet Equipment, and Motorcycle & Powersports news. The Facility Manager is the go-to maintenance professional for ensuring that the building is maintained and the building and surrounding areas are safe, functional, and welcoming. The Facility Manager position engages with and manages contractors and service vendors to provide repair and maintenance to the company’s HVAC system, company equipment, electrical, gas, water, fire and alarm systems, landscaping, and building. Knowledge in shipping and receiving as well as managing the inventory of supplies is recommended.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Five (5) years of general building/office general repair and maintenance experience in the areas of building maintenance/structure, plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning repairs required.
  • OSHA knowledge and experience required.
  • Knowledge and experience maintaining security/alarm systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects required.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service abilities.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word, including Outlook is required.
  • Shipping, receiving and mailroom operations experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle a variety of miscellaneous tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree from a two year college or technical school preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary point of contact for all facility related requests.
  • Schedules and manages outside vendors for projects beyond general repair or training capabilities.
  • Generates work order quotes, negotiates competitive pricing and deliveries.
  • Manages work orders, tracks progress and ensures timely completion.
  • Develops and implements consistent maintenance and service plans for equipment and facility systems.
  • Support office space planning, office moves, equipment set up.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Keeps common areas clean, organized functional and presentable.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, moving, carrying, balancing various loads of product (at times weights of stock items may be greater than 50#).
