About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the building, equipment, and grounds remain clean, safe, and in good working condition. This position supports daily operations by performing routine maintenance, minor repairs, and custodial duties to provide a safe environment for youth, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in maintenance, custodial, or building services preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of building repair, cleaning procedures, and safety standards.
  • Ability to lift 25–80 lbs and perform physical tasks.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Complete minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, fixing doors, replacing ceiling tiles, and breaking down card boards.
  • Assist with monitoring facility conditions and reporting larger issues to management.
  • Support setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for programs, events, and rentals.
  • Empty trash and recycling and ensure proper disposal.
  • Maintain outdoor areas including walkways, entrances, and grounds as needed.
  • Ensure the facility meets safety and cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, and equipment.
  • Report any safety hazards, maintenance needs, or equipment issues immediately.
  • Assist with emergency cleanup when needed (spills, leaks, etc.).
  • Help receive and store deliveries.
  • Assist staff with moving equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Support room setup for programs, meetings, and rentals.
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal or yard maintenance.
