About The Position

The incumbent is responsible for assisting with the overall upkeep, Maintenance and renovation of properties leased, owned, and/or operated by the Board. Under the direction of the Facility Maintenance Technician, the incumbent carries out activities related to preventive maintenance and repairs of building systems, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, as well as immediate and emergency coverage for repairs and system breakdowns. keeps accurate documentation of all activities and expenditures utilizing an established work order system. He/She is directly responsible and accountable to the Facility Maintenance Technician. OSHA regulations apply to this position. This position is designated as a Level Three with regard to the HIPAA Privacy Rule. This position is nonexempt for FLSA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems and the installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Basic knowledge of the building trades, materials, and tools.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and up keep.
  • The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) security and privacy regulations as they relate to the protection of confidential medical information and personal health information as required by law, professional ethics and accreditation requirements.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Completing task assigned completely and consistently with proper follow up.
  • Work independently in completing jobs over a large geographic services area.
  • Follow through on both large and small jobs until all requirements are met.
  • Manage time and plan schedule to accommodate both routine and nonroutine, urgent needs of programs.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out needed repairs to facility plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems based on assignment from supervisor or at the direction of the program directors in the event of an emergency.
  • Carries out preventive maintenance on facility systems to assure proper operation and long life as scheduled by supervisor.
  • Completes minor renovations involving carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work based on assignment from supervisor by establishing a priority list and communicating with supervisor on when renovations will be done.
  • Keeps accurate records of time and expenditures based on work orders.
  • Maintains inventory of tools and materials needed to carry out job responsibilities.
  • Follows agency established procurement guidelines under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Assists supervisor in the oversight of facility operations including other property owners and other organizations.
  • Responsible for monitoring agency vehicles, routine maintenance schedules, necessary emergency repair, and advising responsible staff of vehicle needs and arranging such if necessary, under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned consistent with job description and expectations for the position.
