About The Position

Performs basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards. Following standard operating procedures, installs, inspects, repairs, and performs general preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems. Assists with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, and moving furniture or materials within the facility. Utilizes a work order system to log activities as required. Works with or assists trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and general mechanical aptitude

  • Standing, walking, talking, climbing, etc.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Stooping and kneeling
  • Fine motor coordination

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine Maintenance tasks such as: Changing light bulbs and ballasts
  • Replacing batteries in sensor-operated toilets and sinks
  • Checking and topping off oil levels in air compressors
  • Minor repairs to doors, handles and warehouse equipment
  • Good mechanical aptitude to diagnose problems
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs to identify and report maintenance issues
  • Able to advise leadership on what can be done in-house vs. be outsourced
  • Experienced operator of MHE and other equipment
  • Respond to general maintenance requests from leadership and warehouse staff
  • Ability to work with all types of individuals
  • Assist with seasonal prep (e.g., fans, heaters, minor weatherproofing)
  • Escort and support outside vendors or contractors when specialized repairs are needed
  • Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards
  • Creative problem-solver
  • Manage time effectively
