Responsible for work related to the installation, maintenance and repair of facilities such as, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, construction, aquatics, alarm and fire prevention systems, painting, mechanical and miscellaneous hardware and equipment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Under supervision of the Superintendent of Parks & Facilities, leads the Facility Maintenance Division, including the Building Maintenance and Aquatic Maintenance. Works closely with Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate intradepartmental projects and tasks. Plans, coordinates and distributes Facility Maintenance Division work and schedules. Responsible for timely completion of Facility Maintenance Division work requests. Coordinates and conducts in-service training. Coordinates the development of division operating procedures Coordinates Facility Maintenance Division hiring and training. Conducts Facility Maintenance Division Crew Leaders midyear and year end performance reviews. Assists and Coordinates the preparation and monitoring of the Facility Maintenance Division budget and Recreation Department Facility Maintenance Budgets. Performs administrative tasks, such as ordering and purchasing supplies, preparing reports, monitoring and enforcing contracts. Performs facility maintenance work as necessary. Inspects and performs preventative maintenance and repairs. Plans, promotes and implements good safety practices. Coordinates and monitors contracted work. Assists in the planning, promotion and administering of safety programs and inspections. Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules. Familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Attends monthly Parks & Planning Crew Leader Meetings and Parks & Planning Supervisor Meetings. Attends Maintenance Safety Team meetings. Oversees the maintenance and replacement of facility fire extinguishers. Oversees and assigns staff to monthly 140 Lively Warehouse safety inspections. Oversees and assigns appropriate staff for maintaining Pavilion Carousel. Key Master. Maintains door, lock, code/stamp and spare key inventory and records. Distributes and collects keys for facilities. Monitors and oversees Facility Maintenance payroll. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with co-workers, other departments and the public using principles of good customer service. Represents the Facility Maintenance Division and Parks & Planning Department to outside agencies, organizations and associations. Assists in Capital Improvement Budget preparation. Coordinates Facility Maintenance Division record keeping. Stays abreast of new maintenance techniques related to Facility Maintenance. Operates trucks and special equipment as required after receiving and passing district training on vehicles/equipment. Coordinates upkeep of park district equipment and tools. Coordinates the development and monitoring of division goals and objectives. Assists other parts of the organization as needed. Solicits internal and external customer feedback to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ensures all licensing and inspections comply with local, state and federal law. Coordinates the preparation of reports, proposals and records. Assists in the development of internal and external customer satisfaction measurements. Assists in the preparation of bids and specifications. Performs other duties as necessary including but not limited to daily vehicle and equipment inspection and cleaning, office furniture moving, painting, program and special event support, ice making, snow removal, garbage removal, and other related items.
