About The Position

The Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center (JFK ADATC) is seeking an individual for the full-time Maintenance/Construction Supervisor II position. This individual is responsible for overseeing all Facility Services functions, including maintenance, grounds, motor fleet vehicles, and environmental services. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role ensures efficient and timely preventive maintenance and repairs across all buildings, equipment, and grounds. The position requires strong knowledge of building and mechanical trades, construction and repair techniques, applicable codes and regulations, and the ability to perform journey-level work. Responsibilities include reading schematics and blueprints, estimating project costs, and supervising and training staff while maintaining effective working relationships.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four (4) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades including one (1) year of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F

Nice To Haves

  • Considerable knowledge of repair, maintenance and construction techniques and of the tools, methods, practices, materials and equipment used in the building and mechanical trades.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and all other rules and regulations governing repair, maintenance and construction of facilities.
  • Ability to perform journey level work in a variety of trades, to read schematics and blueprints, and to estimate repair and construction projects.
  • Ability to estimate cost and amount of needed repair and replacement parts for operating equipment and building structures
  • Ability to train, direct and supervise subordinates and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
