About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Facility Maintenance Superintendent to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Facility Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for solving problems identified by Maintenance Management, integrating surety procedures and policies in the areas of safety, security, personnel reliability, and other supportive functions into an effective management system which facilitates safe and secure operations for the Hawthorne Army Depot. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. Typical Responsibilities Include: Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. Establish standards and expectations for Maintenance Operations. Establish and monitor the Conduct of Operations (CONOPS) and compliance culture for compliance. Develop short- and long-range plans to accomplish established goals. Define resources needed to achieve production objectives and provide data for budget development. Supervise the process by which Maintenance personnel are certified/qualified and assigned responsibilities as required to assist in implementation of the Personnel Training Plan. Participate in solving problems identified by Maintenance Management; request assistance from other department Superintendents as required. Review regulations and directives as well as technical data packages (e.g., SOPs, ECPs) to determine actions required to meet production requirements. Ensure plant equipment is started, normal operations, demonstration testing, trial burns, post maintenance testing, modifications, and/or campaign changeover activities. Manage daily maintenance activities of the plant. Model and reinforce proper conduct of operations for subordinates. Ensure Operations personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform their duties and oversee administration of the departmental certification program. Implement regulations and directives as well as technical information (i.e., SOPs, ECPs, RFIs) to meet production requirements. Implement and manage production schedules. Select assigned personnel, initiate, and approve personnel actions, approve leaves, review and determine training requirements for personnel. May serve in absence of the Assistant Maintenance Manager when necessary. Responsible for integrating surety procedures and policies in the areas of safety, security, personnel reliability, and other supportive functions into an effective management system which facilitates safe and secure operations.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • 5-7 years supervisory experience in plant maintenance required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an industrial – munitions storage environment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance engineering disciplines, maintenance technologies and management.
  • Experienced in budget preparation and administration, cost accounting and scheduling of resources.
  • Experience in maintenance work order planning.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have significant experience in maintenance program and procedure development.
  • Must be familiar with mechanical equipment, tools, electrical and instrumentation test equipment and their calibration standards, corrosion control procedures, welding procedures and basic machine shop operations.
  • Must be familiar with maintenance and modification quality control.
  • Must be experienced in using a computerized maintenance management program (i.e. Maximo, Passport, TRAC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance requirements and maintenance restrictions imposed by safety and environmental regulations.
  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
  • Perform safety sensitive duties.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License and pass an MVR check with a clean record.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
  • Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience performing maintenance management in a munition’s demilitarization, power plant operations, and power outage management.
  • Experience in Conduct of Maintenance activities in toxic/hazardous work environments.
  • Experience in maintenance proposal development.
  • Must possess the ability to formulate reports, procedures, and written instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize projects and adapting to changes as they occur is highly desirable.
