Facility Maintenance Specialist (Limited Duration) Oregon Department of Transportation Support Services Division Facilities Portland The role: We are currently searching for a skilled facility maintenance specialist to join our team in Portland! As part of this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and taking on a wide range of tasks including plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, painting, HVAC maintenance and overall building upkeep for all ODOT facilities within the area! Limited duration appointments are benefits eligible and have a designated maximum length of service. This position has the potential to become permanent. A day in the life: Perform plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical repairs, including fixture replacements and systems maintenance Set up and tear down systems furniture as needed Execute preventive maintenance by inspecting and servicing equipment and facilities on a scheduled basis Prepare surfaces and perform touch-up painting to match existing colors Handle housing repairs, including roofing and kitchen/bathroom remodels Maintain commercial buildings, ensuring all systems and structures are in good working condition and promptly addressing any maintenance issues Perform plumbing repairs, such as replacing fixtures, fixing leaks, and clearing drains Use mobile devices and software to communicate, collect inspection data, submit time, and manage work requests Perform skilled carpentry tasks including building walls, constructing concrete forms, installing flooring/wall coverings and applying finishes To request a copy of the position description, which includes all duties and working conditions, please email [email protected]. Requirements

  • Two (2) years of: general building maintenance; carpentry; electrical; mechanical; painting; OR plastering experience.
  • A journeyman's license/card in any of the above trades will substitute for this experience.
  • Note: Be sure a copy of your journeyman's license/card is attached to your application form.
  • Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record.
  • We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).
  • Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
